The Mayan calendar has many divisions of time: months of 20 days, years of 360 days, katun of 7200 days and a baktun of 144,000 days. Their calendar started on 3114-AUG-13 BCE with the birth of Venus. They expected the world to last for exactly 13 baktun cycles. They anticipated the end of the world near the Winter Solstice of 2012.

Perhaps 2012 won't bring the end of the world. Hopefully it won't bring the end of nture as we know it either, and this picture will remain just a bad dream.

The piece is a composite of ever evolving layers of Spring HD video and various stone textures.

The theme of the disc follows the Hero's Journey through the eyes of Nature. There is also a series of short pieces on the Seasons (this one here) and the Elements.
